Samsung Is Pushing Android 12 To Galaxy S21 Devices
1 min readAndroid 12 began officially hitting Pixel devices less than a month ago. Now, after a few short weeks, Samsung is also pushing out the latest update to the Galaxy S21.
Initially, Android 12 was only available in BETA form on the Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra. BETA testers were given four different updates to try out before the final stable version was released. With Android 12 hitting the latest Galaxy devices, many of the most popular features within it will also be available on compatible Samsung devices.
One of the biggest additions available with Android 12 is the ability to extend your privacy controls to individual apps. Users will now see indicators whenever an app is using the camera or microphone and will gain the ability to individually revoke that app’s permissions. Users will also be able to change the color scheme found throughout the device simply by changing their wallpaper.
Samsung devices getting this update so soon after Google’s Pixel devices is a pretty big deal. As most manufacturers are still trialing BETA versions of Android 12 for their particular devices, Samsung continues to maintain the competitive advantage.
The update to Android 12 is officially available today, so if you have a Samsung Galaxy S21, S21+, or Galaxy S21 Ultra, keep your eyes open for a push notification to upgrade.
