The Next Call Of Duty Game Will Be A Soft Reboot Of Modern Warfare

Details are scarce at the moment, but it looks like the next entry into the ‘Call Of Duty’ franchise will be a Modern Warfare title. The game will debut near the end of the year, and will essentially be a soft reboot of the Modern Warfare franchise. The news was first broken on Twitter, by a YouTuber named LongSensation, then seemingly confirmed by Kotaku’s Jason Schreier.

I can confirm this is true, and that it's hilarious. The first one was "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" so obviously the fourth one is "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare." Video games are absurd https://t.co/Ghb1m2srC4

Modern Warfare is hands down one of the most popular of all the different Call Of Duty franchises. A soft reboot could be just the thing to help catapult Call Of Duty back into the limelight after games like Fortnite, PUBG, and Apex Legends have taken over. The question that remains now is whether or not this new Modern Warfare will stay true to the franchise roots, or if they’ll try to break the reinvented wheel ‘Battle Royale’ games are run on currently.

Either way, I’m excited for this news, and I can’t wait to see more info about this new Modern Warfare title.
