This Voldemort Origins Trailer Makes Me Wish It Was Real

One of the greatest mysteries from the Harry Potter Universe is the origin of Lord Voldemort. We know he’s the big bad from the franchise, and has an unspeakable amount of power, but we don’t know how he amassed it. One fan took their curiosity to the next level and actually produced a trailer for an origin story. While it’s just a trailer now, there are plans to turn this into a feature film.

The story follows a young Tom Riddle, and explores the cause of him turning to the dark side. Although there are several characters from the Harry Potter franchise involved, this film won’t actually be part of a shared universe. We will get to see things like the circumstances surrounding the mysterious death of the Heir of Hufflepuff, Hepzibah Smith in 1943. That scenario led to the well known “House Elf Scandal” which involved the loyal house elf Hokey accidentally poisoning Smith. It is widely believed that Riddle had a hand in this, using a False Memory Charm on Hokey in an effort to disguise his involvement.

This trailer has been making it’s rounds on social media and has since set the internet ablaze. I’d love to see an actual story about Voldemort’s history be made, and I’m sure millions of other Potter fans would as well.
