Before the arrival of the Google Pixel, the iPhone was the undisputed king of mobile photography. Apple’s camera sensors along with built-in software overlays made the photography experience a breeze. The Google Pixel came out and changed everything, and in the process stole that crown from the iPhone. People have been sharing shots taken on their Pixels that were previously only possible with high-end DSLR cameras. Not only that, but the experience was so unbelievably consistent, you pretty much had to TRY to take a bad photo on that phone. Now, not only are we on the brink of a new Pixel releasing, but the shooters on the Galaxy Note 8, OnePlus Five, HTC U11 and LG V30 are all getting rave reviews. It’s hard to gauge how good the camera on the iPhone 8 will be at this point, but in the case of the V30 especially (The Pixel XL 2 is rumored to be based on the same design), it certainly faces some really stiff competition.
I think I am an iPhone for life guy but the 8 doesn’t seem that big enough of a deal to cop.
A lot of people are. I’ve tried to love the iPhone, but I simply cannot.
