Those who are proud owners of a Nintendo Wii U game console just got a reason to be even happier with your system. Nintendo just announced plans to bring the Nintendo Virtual Console service to the next gen console, which will allow gamers to download some of the best games Nintendo has ever released from classic consoles. The addition of the Virtual Console, Wii U owners will also get two separate firmware updates to increase to speed and performance of the console, and to allow a faster return to the home menu. Those who already downloaded Virtual Console titles have the option of using the built in transfer system, or you could pay to re download them. That’s right…fork over more cash to re download titles you’ve already purchased. The fees aren’t astronomical though, as NES titles are only $1.00 to re download, while SNES titles will cost you $1.50.
Gameboy Advance titles will also be available for the first time when this update hits the Wii U sometime this spring.
