First Images Of Google Pixel 9 Lineup Leak

2 min read

It appears that the upcoming Google Pixel 9 Pro has been leaked six months ahead of the Google Fall hardware event. The ninth Pixel is expected to have several major design changes, and if the leaked image is genuine, it indicates that we’ll see a device that looks quite different from previous Pixel models. If you’ve already read the title of this post, then you know what time it is.

For starters, the Pixel 9 family will arrive in three different sizes this year, a Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL, alongside an additional Pixel 9 Pro Fold. The 9, 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL will be more traditional-style handsets, while the 9 Pro Fold will be the spiritual successor to last year’s Pixel Fold. Each phone will have an upgraded, oval-shaped camera cutout instead of the current visor-style camera assembly. The standard Pixel 9 will be the smallest of the devices, coming with a rumored 6.03-inch OLED display. The Pixel 9 Pro will have a slightly larger 6.1-inch OLED display, while the Pixel 9 Pro XL will max out with a 6.7-inch OLED display.

The upcoming Pixel 9 Pro Fold will have significant changes from its previous model, including a more squared camera assembly, a taller and flatter design, and a better hinge for improved opening and closing mechanics. The biggest upgrade in Google’s second foldable phone will be its processor. It is expected to feature the latest Tensor 4 chip, surpassing the Tensor 3 chip used in its predecessor.

Although the official release of the Pixel 9 lineup is still months away, I would expect many more leaks are expected to appear leading up to the launch day.
