Here Comes The ‘iPhone 5SE’
1 min readApple may be giving users exactly what they’ve been asking for this Spring. According to a report by 9to5 Mac, Apple is readying a 4 inch successor to the iPhone 6 to be released during their annual event in March. The phone will reportedly be dubbed the iPhone 5SE, not the iPhone 6C as some had previously predicted.
So what’s going to be the big deal about this new phone? Since the debut of the larger iPhone 6 and 6 Plus models, a fairly large portion of iPhone users have expressed concern about the size of new iPhone models. Most decided to stick with their iPhone 5 or 5S models due to the ease of use with the smaller phones. Now, the iPhone 5SE promises a return to form, without sacrificing functionality. The iPhone 5SE will bring back the 4 inch form factor, while maintaining much of the features from the iPhone 6. That means, Apple Pay support, better photo sensor (same 8MP resolution though), A8 and M8 processors, and Live Photos to name a few.
The iPhone 5SE will also be available in all the current colors of the iPhone 6S, including the Rose Gold variant. While this phone will support Live Photos, it WILL NOT have 3D touch like the 6S, and will instead rely on a simple long press for execution. As for this being fuel for the rumor fire, here’s some gasoline for that fire. Let us know what you think in the comments below:
