Marvel Vs Capcom Infinite Debuting Next Year
2 min readLast week we wrote a piece about the upcoming announcement of Marvel Vs Capcom 4. We’re glad to report that Marvel and Capcom officially took the stage at Playstation Experience today to officially reveal the game and what we can expect from it. Titled ‘Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite’ this marks the fourth installment of the wildly popular fighting franchise, and will bring with it a new twist on a familiar favorite.
It looks like Marvel is doubling down on characters from the MCU, while also bringing in some familiar faces from the comics. Iron Man and Captain Marvel look to be putting their beef from Civil War II aside to be flag bearers from Marvel, while Ryu and Mega Man represent Capcom.
In addition to standard single player modes, gamers can also expect an improved and robust multiplayer experience as well. Gamers will also be able to practice to become the best in the world thanks to a wide array of training, mission, and arcade modes. There’s also an all-new “cinematic” story mode which aims to guide players through a narrative encompassing the new conflict, while introducing a new villain.
In previous games, players relied on skills and character advantages to claim victory. In MVC Infinite, there’s a pretty awesome way to level the playing field with the use of Infinity Stones. Prevalent throughout the Marvel Universe, Infinity Stones will be used to grant players enhanced powers based on the powers of whichever of the six stones they happen to use. Power, Mind, Space, Time, Soul, and Reality are the six stones that will be in play, and I can only imagine the types of insane boosts players will gain from using them. The use of Infinity Stones isn’t completely new though, as the concept was originally introduced way back in 1997 with Marvel Super Heroes.
With today’s reveal and official trailer, I’m even more excited than ever to check this game out! for now, check out the teaser trailer for yourself and let us know your thoughts in the comments below!!!
