YouTube Is Now Available For The Nintendo Switch

1 min read

If you needed another reason to stop waiting to buy a Switch, Nintendo may have just given you one. Starting today, Switch owners can download YouTube on their handhelds, and gain access to millions of videos. You can access videos through your account, including those you’ve subscribed to, along with YouTube’s 360 degree videos. Touchscreen functionality is limited, and the right Joy-Con joystick only works for navigating around in 360 degree capable videos.

YouTube joins Hulu as the second major streaming service to debut on the Switch. This hardly puts the Switch in line with other media devices, but with the incredible game library it already has, it does make it a much more appealing gaming system. If Nintendo is able to pull off the hat trick and snag Netflix, then it would become one of the most capable handhelds available.

Now if they could only work on the atrocious navigation issues, they’d be just fine. In the meanwhile, Nintendo posted a handy guide on how to download Netflix for those curious about checking it out.
