The Rock Purchases Vince McMahon’s XFL For $15 Million
1 min readIn another step towards global domination, The Rock and a group of investors have purchased Vince McMahon’s XFL. The investment group dropped a paltry $15 Million for the now-defunct football league, which had gained steam before COVID hit the scene. Oliver Luck, the father of beloved NFL quarterback Andrew Luck, had served as the league’s commissioner until it was killed off.
The Rock is no stranger to the world of football. In fact, he played college ball for the University of Miami Hurricanes long before jumping into professional wrestling. After pro wrestling, The Rock dove into the world of acting. Most recently playing embattled financial advisor Spencer Strasmore on the hit HBO series, Ballers.
The Rock took to Twitter to confirm the acquisition, expressing gratitude to his business partner Dani Garcia. There’s been no formal details on when or how the league will be resurrected, but one can only hope it will retain some of the rules that made the original run so unique.
Taking a moment to illuminate this very cool and huge milestone.

My XFL partner, Dany Garcia becomes the first woman to OWN an entire sports league independent from a team. She was the architect in this acquisition and now we go to work – for the love of football. @xfl2020 https://t.co/7IOuGBSxYu
