5 Things WWE 2K16 Must Have To Be A Great Game

In-Ring/Out of Ring Improvements

While I had no major beefs with the pacing of previous titles, I liked that 2K games is consistently making progress with bringing us a game that mimics an actual televised WWE match. With that being said, there still needs to be improvements to the overall presentation that would do wonders for game play. Limb targeting needs to play a more significant role, especially with the implementation of the stamina system in WWE 2K15. If a big man or high-flyer gets their legs consistently attacked, it should be twice as hard for them to climb the ropes or lift someone for a body slam. Weapons should also be added into the mix for things players could use to target limbs. Kendo Sticks, Sledgehammers, and chairs have all been used to attack very specific parts of the body onscreen for years, yet that option has been lacking in WWE games forever. Another thing that hindered the in-ring action was the fact that after a big move was executed, you’d have to wait for the character model to finish selling it, before you could even try to pull off another move. This would lead to my character awkwardly stumbling towards my opponent for 3-5 seconds as the animation finished. Chain grappling was a bit of a pain, as it would lead to sometimes eternal back and forths and the payoff would never amount to a giant shift in momentum as it often does in real matches. Speaking of real matches, can we please have the ability to fight in the crowd/arena area? I mean, it happens almost weekly on live broadcasts, and was a capability in previous games, so why not here? I’m also hoping for better ring-rope mechanics (i.e. slingshot guillotine), and weight mechanics like being able to back body drop someone over the top rope.
