Google’s Pixel Event Is Confirmed For October 15th
2 min readFollowing another year of constant leaks featuring their next flagship phone, Google has finally unveiled the date of their fall event. The Pixel 4 began leaking early this year, and as a result, Google was quick to actually confirm the existence of their new device. Since then, we’ve been exposed to several high-level leaks revealing everything from internal components to the different colors it’ll be available in. According to media invites, we now know that Google’s Pixel Event is confirmed for October 15th.
We know that the biggest addition to the Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL will be Project Soli. Project Soli is Google’s overly ambitious answer to Apple’s “FaceID” and will bring with it much more functionality. For starters, Soli is based on radar tech that allows for greater motion detection around a mobile device. We also know that the next Pixel will feature a new camera set-up as they’ve moved to a single camera setup on the front of the phone and a dual-camera setup on the rear. The new camera system on the back are reportedly both a telephoto lens and a brand new ultra wide angle sensor.
There’s also rumors suggesting the Pixel 4 Willa also receive a bump in processing capability as well. According to a few leaked benchmark tests we should expect to see a Snapdragon 855 processor, 6GB of RAM, and 128 or 256GB of storage. This is all rumor for now, but come October 15th, we’ll know everything we’ll need to know about the upcoming Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL.
