Disney Will Offer A $12.99 Bundle Featuring Disney+, Hulu, And ESPN+

2 min read

As if they couldn’t sweeten the deal any better, Disney has unveiled the first pricing tier for their streaming service. When the service finally launches in November, Disney will bundle Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ for the insanely low price of $12.99.

Disney has remained mum with details for Disney+ but today’s revelation is a bit of a bombshell. At that price point, Disney+ will almost immediately put pressure on rival streaming services. $12.99 is an incredible value no matter which way you slice it. Combined with Disney and Hulu’s massive catalog and ESPN+’s sports library, this new bundle is almost unbeatable. Disney’s CEO Bob Igor called Disney+ “The most important product the company has launched in his tenure.”

With new streaming services becoming available almost weekly, it’s important for them to be able to stand out. The streaming space is becoming increasingly more saturated, and Disney willing to bundle three wildly popular services together, they’ll do just that. Even further, by essentially offering a combination of classic content, network tv series, and sports, Disney will essentially be forcing people to re-evaluate the services they’ve already signed up for. This is definitely part of a larger strategy, and once Disney is more than equipped to be successful with.

The biggest question remaining is how Disney plans to scale Disney+ on other services. People who have cut the cord are typically using devices like Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Firestick, or Google Chromecast devices to access their content. If Disney doesn’t make their services available on these devices, they could run into an issue early on with subscriber adoption.

There’s also been no word on whether or not Disney+ will be available as an unbundled service.

Either way, Disney just made their service infinitely more attractive, and have the most aggressive price point on the market. And they haven’t even launched the anchor service yet.
