Five WWE Superstars That Should Have Defeated The Undertaker At Wrestlemania

Punk, Taker Wrestlemania

CM Punk facing the Undertaker at Wrestlemania was merely a consolation prize for where he should’ve been that year. Punk was the hottest heel in wrestling at the time, and thanks to a new partnership with Paul Heyman, he was starting to get even hotter. After dropping the WWE Title to The Rock after the longest title reign in modern WWE history, Punk was left without an opponent for Wrestlemania. This scenario led to Punk fixating on ending the Undertaker’s undefeated streak at Wrestlemania. Punk was already an ace on the mic, but he and Heyman were gifted a box of promo napalm when Undertaker’s long time manager, Paul Bearer passed away. Punk and Heyman used Bearer’s death to goad Undertaker, and get inside Taker’s head much like he’d done to several of his opponents. In one of the most insane moments on Monday Night RAW, we saw Punk ambush Taker after disguising himself as a druid, and rub “Paul Bearer’s ashes” all over himself. The match at Wrestlemania was great, and in my mind it was the Undertaker’s last great match.
