People are looking for more and more ways to discover new music, and share favorite jams with friends and family alike. Streaming music services like Pandora and Slacker led the pack with new, inventive ways of discovering and sharing music. Then along came LastFM. Rdio, and latest streaming champion Spotify, and completely changed the way we connect and share our love of music. Now, another newcomer has arrived in the form of Songza with a completely new and wildly inventive way of exploring new music.
What Songza brings to the mix essentially is an entirely new dynamic to music and music discovery. What Songza does differently is rather than have you search by a specific artist name or album name, it gives you the option to search based on what situation you’re in. Now there isn’t a single song search option, because this is also a play list based streaming service, meaning the situational theme you choose, already has songs chosen so all you have to do is sit back and enjoy. From the few moments i spent playing around with Songza, it worked pretty flawlessly, and the amount of music I could choose from was vast. There’s everything from girls night out, to getting high, from making out, to working out Songza has you covered.
The best part about all this? The app and membership to it is completely and totally free, with no annoying audio ads in between music. The play lists themselves are created by actual people so you’ll get a huge variety of songs to choose from and with a library of over 14 and a half million songs, there’s definitely no shortage of music.
Available now in the iOS app store, the Google Play Store, and the Amazon App Store.
