2 min read

The most exciting Dragon Ball Z game ever finally has a release date set. The game will drop early next year and will center around the franchises most popular characters. ‘Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot’ will debut on consoles in January 2020 and will bring with it a unique take on the ever-popular anime series. Fans of Dragon Ball Z will certainly be able to appreciate this title, as it’s the first of its kind to tell the story of franchise favorite, Goku.

DBZ: Kakarot will be an Action RPG that drops players into the life and story of Goku. In it, players will be able to live through some of Goku’s most famous battles as well as brand new story content being created specifically for the game. Players will earn the ability to level up Goku’s fighting abilities not only through combat but by eating as well. Eating not only gives Goku temporary strength, but certain food types will award gamers with permanent buffs as well.

In addition to the main quests and boss battles, DBZ: Kakarot will also feature side quests for players to uncover. These side quests will range from mini-missions to side episodes featuring other popular characters from within the world of Dragon Ball. DBZ: Kakarot Producer Ryosuke Hara detailed one of his favorite side quests, saying:

My personal favorite would be a side-episode focusing on Gohan and Android 16. Here, you will discover the connection that Gohan and Android 16 had before the fight against Cell. So I’m sure playing this side-story, will bring even more emotion when Gohan evolves into Super Saiyan 2.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will hit the Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC beginning in January of 2020. Check out the Bandai Namco website for more details, and let us know what you think in the comments!
